Speak Out Loud was created to bring hope and encouragement into the silence, isolation, and despair created by mental illness.
After years of letting an eating disorder and other mental illness challenges “speak” for her, Speak Out Loud’s founder and director, Stacee Goetzinger, is passionate about speaking words of life and sharing the hope, resilience and depths of God’s sustaining grace and love experienced throughout her ongoing recovery journey. Stacee’s life verse communicates her story and purpose: “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done” (Psalm 118:17).
Stacee is the author of the book, You Are Worth Saving: Letters of Hope from a Desperate Heart, and is a frequent speaker for conferences, retreats, churches, and groups. She and her husband, Doug, co-host the Speak Out Loud podcast which is sharing hope and encouragement for those who struggle with mental health and for those who love and support them.
Stacee and Doug live in Oklahoma City and are blessed with two young adult daughters. Stacee is a fan of Diet Coke and long walks through Target, and is committed to recovering well and celebrating life with family and friends.
Doug served in student and college ministry for many years, and now is a leader in non-profit development. Doug joins with Stacee in the mission of Speak Out Loud by bringing his unique perspective of husband and champion of her recovery. Doug is also available to speak to audiences sharing his story of carrying hope for Stacee and their family through the mental illness journey.
